Jr 2, Here We Come!

I'm back home for the weekend, but I'll be heading out to camp again this afternoon. The first camp of the summer wrapped up smoothly. There were a few 'tired' injuries, bumps and bruises that got blown out of proportion by the campers' sheer exhaustion. The boy who slept in my cabin on Wednesday came to me again right before supper on Friday with a stomach ache. He told me he'd only had water at breakfast and lunch and then had a ton of sugar at canteen. I just told him to have a big glass of water and get some real food into his stomach, and he seemed alright with that solution. By the time his parents picked him up he seemed quite chipper.

Thursday night it rained, which meant that the campers slept more soundly and it was colder and consequently 3 or 4 wet sleeping bags showed up on my doorstep in the morning. Friday morning was therefore taken up almost completely with laundry and trying to figure out how to get the sleeping bags dry when they couldn't go in the dryer and the weather did not seem to be cooperating. I ended up hanging one across my bunk bed and one in my bathroom and turning the fan on until the rain stopped and I could hang them outside.

Friday night, we all headed home. I've spent the weekend running errands and relaxing. Unfortunately, my body is stuck on camp time and won't let me sleep much past 8:00 so I haven't really caught up on sleep much.

Next week is Junior Camp #2 with 8-10 year-olds. This camp is slightly fuller than last week with around 80 campers. I excited to see who God brings across my path this week!
