Experiential Learning and Mug Painting Pics

It's hard to believe I arrived here at Holsby almost exactly two weeks ago. The days have flown by! Tuesday afternoon, as part of a class on Experiential Learning, we got to do a few team-building activities. The first was a 5x5 grid of circles. One at a time, each person had to try to step on the stumps in the right order. When the person made a mistake, they had to go to the end of the line and the next person tried. To finish the challenge, each person in the team had to make it through from beginning to end. The catch was that only the person on the circles was allowed to talk so everyone else pointed and gestured to try to tell the person where to go. The point of this activity was to get us thinking about failure, how we deal with failure, and what we think other people think of us when we fail. For our second challenge, we had to get our whole team onto a hanging log; after we were on the log, we then had to arrange ourselves in order of birth month without falling off the log. There was also a rope hanging near the log which we used for balance and also to swing a few people onto an adjacent platform to give us more room to maneuver on the log. It took us at least an hour to finish the second activity.

I don't have a lot of time right now so I think I'll leave it at this.

Here's some pictures of the mug that I painted last Saturday:

Gotta go!
