I've now been here two full days, but it feels like it's been a lot longer than that. We had our first official dinner yesterday; they served us a Mexican-tasting chicken, bean, cheese, and rice dish which was delicious. After dinner we hung out in the lounge over the chapel and played games, starting with "Signs and Symbol" where you pass around an invisible ball and the person in the middle has to try to figure out who has the ball. I also played a variation of Uno similar to Swiss Uno. We spent a lot of time just hanging out and talking in smaller groups. At the end of the evening, Elke, the house mother, asked for help to harvest some pumpkins because she thought the temperature was going to dip below 0C and they wouldn't survive the night. After my roommates and I went back to our dorm, we played a dice game called "10,000" or "Zilch" before heading to bed.
Here's a blurry picture of my room. I'll have to get a better one, but it gives you an idea anyway:
I'm on the top bunk. I'm using the space under the bed as extra clothes storage.
Here's a picture of the view from our window:
Our room is on the front of the school on the far left side when you're facing the school.
We had brunch at 10:30am today and then had some free time to explore. At 1:00pm, we were introduced to the staff. Then we headed out on a hike up a nearby ski hill.
The view from the top of the ski hill!
There are many walls like this all over the place. They sometimes look like rock piles more than walls.
After the hike, Emilie and I played soccer with a some of the guys. Now it's after dinner and I'm off to play some games in the lounge :)
