So today I had Tennis and Calc III. I actually quite enjoyed those classes. They are pobably the least stressful ones I have. In tennis we practice a micro-serve which means you start with your arm in the air and just tap the ball over the net from closer than half court instead of having to bring your arm up behind you and following through with the swing from behind the back line. We did more of the drills where we take a couple bounces to get the ball under control before sending it back over the next to our partner. At the end we played micro-court tennis using approximately 4m of net, and each side only extended about 3m from the net. We also practiced the scoring system used in tennis. Zero points is Love, a mispronunciation of l'eouf. One point is called "15;" two is "30," three is "40;" and another point after that is "game." I always wondered why it went up in such funny increments. I found out today that is because at the time that is the increments that the French coins were in like out nickels, dimes, and quarters (5-10-25). There's a little trivia for you.
In Calc we looked at cylindrical and spherical coordinates in three dimentions and also at taking derivatives in three dimensions. For 20% bonus on the next quiz and homework, I stood up in front of the class and demonstrated on the overhead that two space curves intersected. It was nerve wracking and I was shaking but I am planning on being a teacher so I guess any practice is good.
After Calc I went to the Collegium to eat lunch and read my book until it was time for me to work in the computer lab. Then I came to the computer lab and got distracted by my friend who was sitting outside the door doing math homework. I helped a little while with that, then came inside. I was hoping to be able to mark the homework for the class I am TAing for while I was in the computer lab but so far the prof hasn't dropped it off. Everything is quiet now and there are only 8 people in the lab.

Good for you for demonstrating in front of the class! There have been a couple instances where I felt like getting up and teaching something, when the professor or TA doesn't seem to know what they're doing, but it's always easier to criticize than to actually do...
